A water garden brings us refreshing coolness on hot summer days. It soothes our senses with sounds that only water can make. Our eyes feast on the unsurpassed beauty of colorful water lilies and lotus, shimmering fish and reflections of the surrounding landscape. Water has immense attraction to everyone. People have always enjoyed the beauty of fountains and water gardens, whether located in public squares or in the home garden.

The reasons for designing and building a garden pond are varied. Many homeowners want to exchange their mowers and weed eaters for a work-free garden. Others are just looking for a garden to enjoy, a haven for relaxation. Water does have a relaxing effect, from the rhythmic waves of the ocean, the gently running brook, to the quiet beauty of a backyard pond.

About Garden State Aquatic Nursery

Garden State Aquatic Nursery was established in 1999 by Florence Wood and son Kenneth Wood. Our nursery is nestled in a peaceful country setting just south of Salem, New Jersey. Our growing facility provides a full line of pond plants for homeowners, retail garden centers, and landscape contractors. We offer 75+ varieties, including lilies, lotus, hardy and tropical bog plants, submerged oxygenates, and floating tropical water hyacinths. We also offer a wonderful selection of ponds, liners, pumps, filters, barley bales, fish food and treatments, etc.

Located at 335 Quinton-Hancocks Bridge Road, between Salem and Quinton, New Jersey. From Salem, take Route 49 East. Go approximately 1-1.5 miles. Turn right at Quinton Municipal Building onto School House Road. At stop sign, turn right again. Go approximately 2 miles, through the stop sign. We are the first farm on the left after the stop sign. From Quinton, take Route 49 West. Go approximately .5 miles, turn left at Quinton Municipal Building onto Quinton-Hancocks Bridge Road. Go approximately 2 miles, through the stop sign. We are the first farm on the left after the stop sign.

Pumps, Filters And Other Accessories

We carry several Dura-Shield* pre-formed ponds, waterfalls and riverbeds in a variety of sizes, as well as pond liners for more free-form and larger design ponds.

A water garden cannot thrive without a pump. With our Laguna pumps, you can choose the right pump for your installation.
The power jet pumps circulate pond water, power waterfalls, power filters, power water features. Our fountain pump kits feature bell fountain head, three-tier fountain head or foam jet fountain head.The filter is an essential component for keeping pond water clean and clear. We have mechanical underwater filters, biological underwater filters, and external filters.

The Laguna UV Sterilizer’s ultraviolet light kills algae, which causes ‘green water’. The UV sterilizer fits any pond or system and operates chemical free.

Whimsical Laguna spitters and sprinkler pond ornaments add the soothing sounds of splashing water to garden and pond settings.

Our non-kink tubing and Laguna connectors “click” or pressure fit together for simplicity, ease of “do-it-yourself” assembly and maintenance.

Add atmosphere to any nighttime setting with an underwater light set. Laguna PowerGlo pond lights operate at lower temperatures, generate less heat and are also suitable for waterfall highlighting.

To keep ponds sparking clear, pond water requires regular care for fish and plant health, and long-term pond stability. Laguna water treatments help create and sustain healthy water garden eco-systems. Thoroughly tested, they are proven effective for correcting many common pond conditions and ailments. We carry water test kits, water prep products, green water clarifier, plant grow, pond clean, pond detox, phosphate remover; and a great spring starter pack that includes four 4 oz. bottles of phosphate control, green water clarifier, pond clean and water prep.

Our goldfish and koi pellets and sticks are available in a large variety of sizes. They come in re-sealable, stand-up pouches to ensure that food stays
fresher longer.
